The illegal wildlife trade is driving species around the world to extinction. It is also a highly profitable, organised crime that fuels corruption, impoverishes communities and inspires violence worldwide. The campaign focused on promoting Standard Chartered's work to fight financial crime that directly impacts wildlife.
By taking several measures and collaborating with partners in problematic countries, the bank can help prevent wildlife trafficking by targeting the industry's heart: the money.
Standard Chartered and similar financial institutions can utilise their existing infrastructure and financial intelligence to support law enforcement efforts to pursue the trade's greatest beneficiaries.
I was honoured to work and collaborate with war photographer Kate Brooks, who recently launched a documentary on the issue of wildlife and conservation, The Last Animals. The Last Animals is a story about an extraordinary group of people who go to incredible lengths to save the planet's last animals.
The campaign rolled out globally, focusing on main markets in Asia, Africa and the Middle East; and different digital, social, and OOH channels.
